By producing in small runs and keeping manufacturing in the UK, we maintain close control over materials, craftsmanship, and finish.

Leather & Materials:

Wherever possible, we source within the United Kingdom, prioritising quality, and suppliers who uphold strong standards. We believe good products begin with good materials, carefully selected for their integrity, durability, and character.

For elements that cannot be sourced domestically, we work with trusted partners who share our focus on sustainability,  and long-term performance. We prioritise responsibly sourced leather, dependable hardware, and components designed to withstand years of use.

Why Suede?:

Suede is often underestimated.

When properly selected and treated, it is a durable and resilient material suited to everyday travel. We choose suede for its depth of colour, softness, and the subtle texture that gives each piece character.

While suede may not have the rugged firmness of heavily finished leather, it offers something different, richness, warmth, and a soft velvety nap that adds depth and personality. It brings an elegance and tactile quality that smooth leather rarely achieves.

Belmont suede is designed to handle regular use and rain (although we wouldn’t recommend getting it soaked). It is not a technical outdoor fabric, but a refined leather that softens and develops patina rather than wearing harshly.

Over time, suede gains individuality. Marks and natural variation become part of the story, character of the leather.
